Prepare to be shocked by what’s on the moon!

From rocket detritus to golf balls and even human excrement, if you were to visit the moon you’d find a lot of unexpected things up there. Some, like the falcon feather and golden olive branch, were left by astronauts, whereas others have crash-landed or purposely been sent there, such as the ashes of Eugene Shoemaker.

A sufferer of Addison’s disease, the pioneering planetary geologist wasn’t able to fulfill his dream of becoming an astronaut and setting foot on the moon while alive. Yet in a tragic twist of fate after a car crash in 1997, NASA sent his remains to their final resting place. To this day, he is the only person to be buried on the moon.
