Sorry if you were thinking of a certain disco group. Instead, we’re taking a journey up to a height of just under sixteen thousand feet to visit what is believed to be the highest village in the world to be reached using a vehicle. To provide a comparison, Kibber is well over a thousand feet further above sea level than the summit of Mount Whitney in the Sierra Nevada or Mount Rainier in the Cascade Range.
Kibber, in Northern India, is home to around 350 adults (2011 Census), and is a location for many Buddhist monasteries. Not surprisingly, it offers utterly awesome scenic views. After all, there’s a pretty well-known mountain range not that far away!
Visiting there would certainly be a ‘high light of any vacation!
